Ron Major’s involvement with motorsport dates back to the mid 1970s when he was a leading National & International Professional Factory Motocross Rider and changing to four wheels in the late 80’s as a Professional Race Car Driver with the inauguration of the South African Formula GTi single Seat Championship. The highlight of his racing career was the invitation extended to him by Legendary French Race Car Designer and Racer, Mr Louis Descartes to drive the French Team’s Le Mans Prototype Group C2 A.L.D. BMW in the Yellow Pages International Sports Car Race at Kyalami in 1988 with a very illustrious field of International drivers and world champions taking part
Ron Major’s association with Formula1 spans many decades including producing International events on behalf of the BAR Honda, Renault & McLaren F1 Teams. The Renault F1 association culminated in the very successful production of the 2008 Renault F1 Road Show Tour in South Africa with a temporary F1 Circuit built in the Sandton CBD. Mr Major also organised and managed numerous Exclusive Formula1 Driving experiences held at the Circuit Paul Ricard in France.
