A heaven for animal enthusiasts and adventure lovers, Periyar National Park in Kerala is one of the most popular wildlife reserves and tiger reserves in India. Placed amid the lofty Western Ghats, this national park has equally rich wildlife variety and abundant scenic allure. Side Street Explorers starts this tour off in Mumbai and then introduces you to the beauty and exotic flora and fauna of the park for 6 days. 

Itinerary

Day 1:

  • You will arrive at Mumbai International Airport. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, our representative will meet you at the exit of the Arrivals Terminal Building, holding a placard with your name on it. You will be assisted and transferred to your hotel.

  • Upon arrival at hotel, check-in to your room (check-In time 02:00pm)

  • Bombay, or Mumbai, is the capital of Maharashtra and the economic powerhouse of India. It’s the fastest moving, most affluent and the most industrialized city in India. Yet, once upon a time, Bombay was nothing more than a group of low-lying, swampy and malarial mud flats presented to the British by its Portuguese occupiers as a wedding gift in 1661.

Day 2:

  • Breakfast served at the hotel.

Day 3:

  • Breakfast served at the hotel.

  • Transfer to Mumbai Airport and board your flight to Cochin.

  • Arrive in Cochin where you will meet our representative at Cochin Airport. Direct transfer to Periyar. 

  • Arrive Periyar and check-in to the hotel.

  • Periyar National Park, also known as Periyar Tiger Reserve, is in the mountainous Western Ghats of Kerala, Southern India. This wildlife sanctuary is home to tigers and a significant elephant population, as well as rare lion-tailed macaques, sambar deer, leopards and Indian bison. North of the park is Periyar Lake, which is popular for boat rides. Further north, spice plantations surround the town of Kumily.
