Salvador - Historical City Tour
We start in the modern suburb of Barra, with its famous lighthouse, heading to the city centre and afterwards visiting Pelourinho - a district famous for its narrow and winding streets and old pastel-coloured buildings. It boasts the best-preserved colonial architecture in the whole of the Americas, the exuberant São Francisco church with its extravagant baroque design and gold-leaf interior being a perfect example.
The tour finishes at the Largo do Pelourinho, the heart of the colonial district. Visitors get to see both Salvador’s modern and older sides, and also take a special look at the recent expansions the city has undergone.
